Missouri Ranch Horse Association is more than just a show….
¨ Wholesome Family Fun
¨ Friendly Competitions
o Extreme Ranch Trail
o Free Style Reining
The basic principle is that the American Ranch Horse has incredible value and there is a need for this part of western American heritage to be preserved in a way to demonstrate the versatility, intelligence, beauty, and handiness of these fine horses.
MoRHA offers: Ranch style cutting, real ranch riding, good solid conformation, and horses are shown as naturally as possible in solid clean working tack. The attire is simply a western shirt with a collar, jeans, a western hat/helmet, and boots.
ARHA Adds New Divisions and Classes
ARHA has added a new Novice division for 2014! The ARHA Novice division was designed with beginner riders in mind in the hopes it will help riders develop the confidence and skills needed to compete at a higher level. Classes offered in Novice Youth and Amateur divisions are: Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Ranch Reining, Ranch Cutting, Ranch Roping and Ranch Boxing.
A Novice Cattle designation “cattle only” is also offered for those who have been successful in riding events but have never shown in cattle events. This gives these exhibitors the opportunity to compete with others that are also new to cattle classes and help to develop the all-around horse and rider. Novice Youth and Novice Amateur riders are also eligible for the National Year End Novice High Point and Reserve High Point awards presented at the end of the year at the annual Awards Banquet.
Ranch Boxing classes will be offered in all divisions and a Herd Work class has also been added. MoRHA is working on our list of classes for 2014, so stay tuned to the newsletter and/or website for updates on what ARHA classes will be offered at the 2014 MoRHA shows.
